Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding and fabrication of high-purity stainless steel gas and fluid handling assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Prepare, fit, assemble, and weld stainless steel pipe, tubing, and structural components using proper welding and fabrication techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, BOMs, and weld procedures to ensure accurate production.
- Inspect completed welds and assemblies to verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Maintain welding certifications, adhere to safety and quality standards, and successfully perform 6G TIG pipe welding procedures.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and QA/QC teams while training and mentoring junior welders on best practices and industry standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or post-secondary education preferred.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent advanced training, with TIG welding experience required.
- Previous orbital welding experience preferred.
- Current welding certification required, or ability to obtain/re-certify certification.
- Ability to pass a 6G stainless steel TIG pipe weld test.
- Strong welding portfolio or examples of previous workmanship preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic machine tool knowledge preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and QC documents.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, gauges, valves, and regulators.
- Orbital welding experience (ARC 207 power supply) preferred.
Physical Effort/Activities:
May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.
