Journeyman Machinist
Schedule: Mon-Thu (5:30am-4:00pm)
Pay Rate: $25+ DOE
Location: Boise, ID (Local Candidates Only)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use Virtual GIBBS programming software to set up and execute fabrication tasks.
- Select appropriate supplies, including cutters and feeds, for fabrication operations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of G-Code programming.
- Operate CNC equipment to perform required fabrication tasks.
- Inspect first-piece and random sample parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Use inspection tools such as gauges and optical comparators to inspect work in progress.
- Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose complex machining and fabrication issues.
- Save and maintain programs in the library bank from GIBBS for future use.
- Utilize Documentum to locate, access, and review documentation and technical information.
- Effectively prioritize work and respond quickly to changing production needs.
- Monitor multiple machining operations simultaneously to maximize efficiency when feasible.
- Assist in the on-the-job training and development of less experienced personnel.
- Communicate and share information with team members to support accurate and efficient work practices.
- Assist in developing and improving work procedures and processes.
- Provide guidance to team members and others in resolving complex issues and performing advanced tasks.
- Communicate with internal customers (e.g., SIG, Assembly, Fabrication, Facilities) to understand requirements and provide support.
- Provide engineering teams with input regarding design and material selection as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure the accuracy and quality of work products.
- Demonstrate proficiency in grinding operations, including proper procedures and wheel selection.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating and programming all CNC mills and lathes within designated areas.
- Operate and navigate computer programs and software effectively.
- Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on equipment.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Have basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Exhibit strong technical communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- AAS or Certification in Machine Tool Technology
- 2+ years of relevant experience on HAAS, DMG Mori Seki, or Doosan
Preferred:
- Coordinate Measuring Tools (CMM) certification.
May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.
